This richly colored wine boasts a pale purple hue and opaque dense body. On the nose a symphony of blue fruits; blueberry, mulberry, and blackberries, then baking spices take over, reminiscent of my childhood favorite blackberry pie. On the pallet, it is blackberry pie! Moderate tannins soon creep in and provide structure. Balanced with fresh acidity its long lasting finish will keep you wanting for more. The child inside me smiles. Happy Canyon is known for its afternoon sunshine that provides excellent heat for the thick skinned cabernet sauvignon grape. Surrounded by loam, clay loam, red and yellow chert, and serpentine cobbles, the vines produce a luxurious fruit with brilliant color and aromatic red fruits.
